Ira Harvey Rubin, a resident of Detroit, Michigan, died on November 11th, 2025 at the age of 75. Funeral services arranged by The Dorfman Chapel.

Surviving are his beloved wife Elaine Rubin, daughter Mara (Timothy) Crabtree, and son Philip (Jamie) Rubin. Ira is also survived by his three grandsons – Jacob Crabtree, Ashton Rubin, and Leo Rubin as well as his sister Harriet (Stanley) Remer and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Faye (Alex) Rubin and Aaron Harrison.
Ira was a devoted joke teller – he'd crack up and you would too, usually from the genuine happiness of Ira's unique and crowd-capturing laugh! He cherished his early morning gym routine before work with his friends where he would swim, work out, and hang with the guys in the sauna. Ira always had a new idea for a business and was very motivated by his passions. Most of his life was spent managing his own used medical equipment business where he worked hard for himself and his family. Despite facing many challenges in life, he was always full of joy. He was very gregarious and will truly be missed by his friends and family!
