Family Members:
Barbara Blumrosen Cooper lived a joyful life and died peacefully at the age of 99 on April 4, 2025.

Born in 1925 in Pontiac to Celia (Barnett) and Nathan Blumrosen, Barbara graduated from Central High School in Detroit and University of Michigan, where she was president of her sorority.

She married the late Jay Richard Cooper in 1947and settled in Detroit. Although her life was centered around her husband and four children, her sunny temperament and graciousness attracted friends in Detroit, Islamorada, Fla. and Atlanta, where she spent her final years.

Eager for experiences, she enjoyed art and travel, which was also an opportunity to visit her far-flung children. She was willing to try most anything, from blowing glass with her daughter to river rafting with her grandchildren.

After Richard’s death in 1996, she met the late Dick Kahn and spent ten years enjoying his companionship and adventures abroad.

Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Carl Goldfarb. She is survived by her sister Janet Warren, children Catherine Fox (Steven), Carol Ladd, Constance Cooper (Scott Magill) and Alan Cooper, grandchildren Matthew Fox (Deborah), Michael Fox, Henry (Catherine Brennan) Ladd, Charlotte Ladd (Christian Peralta), Alex Magill (Sarah) and Greg Magill (Tammy) and great-grandchildren Amelia, Daniel, Aiden, Rory, Nicole, Luke, Jack, Ada and Liana.
