Gordon Spencer Landsman, 85, died Sunday, January 19, 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida. 5 years to the date that his younger brother, James H. Landsman died. He was known by many names – Gordy, Dad, and Dr. Grandpa. He was loved and will be missed.

Gordy was born March 29, 1939in Detroit, Michigan to James and Irene Landsman. He married Phyllis in 1960 and graduated from the medical school at Wayne State University in 1964. Upon graduation, he volunteered for the United States Air Force serving most of his time in Europe. After leaving the Air Force in 1970, he moved to Minneapolis working as a family doctor. In the mid-1980s he specialized in laser hemorrhoid surgery. In the early 90s he rejoined the Air Force serving several tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. After he retired from the Air Force in 2005he was a flight surgeon for United Airlines. He was a nationally recognized expert in aerospace medicine. He finally retired from an amazing career and service to this country at the age of 72.

Besides medicine, he really liked technology. He moonlighted at the family computer store repairing computers. His love for technology continued through his whole life. He was a grandpa that knew more about computers than his grandkids. Gordy also enjoyed repairing everything in the house. He had an outgoing personality and everyone instantly loved him. He adored and cared for his grandchildren. Enjoying their music concerts, soccer games, life events, and making them meals. He most cherished his family Zoom Shabbats every Friday.

Gordy is preceded in death by his parents James and Irene Landsman, in-laws Sydney and Rose Silver, brother James H. Landsman, brother-in-law Melvin Silver, brother-in-law Howard Barron, and brother-in-law Seymour Cherny.
