Mark M. Levin, loving brother to Judith L. Davis and Ruth L. Sklar, devoted brother-in-law to Phil Davis and Michael Sklar, and fun-loving uncle to Chuck Sklar and his wife Leah, David Dean and his wife Mary, Jeffrey Dean, Andrew Sklar, Suzanne Dean, Jeremy Sklar and Kathryn Dean McDonald and her husband Jason, passed away on Wednesday September 4th in the early morning.

Born and raised in Detroit by his late parents, William and Belle Levin, Mark attended the University of Michigan where he was an acclaimed editor of The Michigan Daily, and where he went on to graduate with a degree in law. For most of his life, he lived in Washington DC where he worked first in the Justice Department and then in private practice.

Mark's lifetime was one of generous and purposeful giving to his many close friends, family members and the community at large through his tireless work on behalf of charities, especially The University of Michigan and the Whitman-Walker Institute, which shall both benefit from his charitable remainder trust.

Besides his legal and philanthropic pursuits, Mark valued and enjoyed opera and classical music, even taking singing lessons and occasionally performing arias for friends and family. His other great loves were his dogs Barney, Sting and Marley, travelling in Italy and the Marx Brothers.
