Family Members:
Deborah Frisch (born March 22, 1934), loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, died on December 1 surrounded by her family. She was 83. The cause was complications from pneumonia.

Born Deborah Halpern in the Bronx borough of New York City to Irving and Rose Halpern, she married her beloved husband Emanuel (Manny) in 1955. Residents of Farmington Hills, they moved to Michigan in 1962 and lived for many years in Huntington Woods, where they raised their family.

She earned Masters Degrees from Oakland University and Wayne State University and enjoyed a career as a psychotherapist at Oakland Family Services. She retired from practice in 2010.

Debbi and Manny were early members of the Birmingham Temple, and established deep roots in the humanistic Jewish community of Detroit.

They loved traveling the world together finding beauty wherever the went: camping on the shore of Lake Superior, walking in nature, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying their home and garden in Farmington Hills.

Debbi had a deep love of art in many dimensions including dance, chamber music, visual art, theater, literature and film. She was active in many organizations and causes. Her friends and family will remember her zest for life, her wisdom and compassion, and her ability to listen deeply and comfort others.

Her presence will be deeply missed by everyone she touched.

She is survived by her husband Emanuel Frisch, their three children Wendy Frisch, Matthew Frisch, Robin Frisch-Gleason, five granddaughters, Eden, Lauren, Maia, Leslie and Ivy, and her sister, Estelle Halpern.
